Unofficial Helium-style new tab with 10,000+ local bangs, a clock, custom fonts and synced settings. No tracking.

Helium New Tab is a minimal new tab page styled after the Helium browser, with bangs built into the search field. Bangs, built in Add a bang like !yt, !gh or !w to your search to go straight to that site's results. More than 10,000 bangs from Helium's catalog are resolved on your device, so searches go directly to the site with no redirect service in between. • Put the bang anywhere: "!yt lofi", "lofi !yt" and "lofi music !yt" all search YouTube. • Type a bang on its own to open the site. • The service name appears before your query as you type, like keyword mode in Helium's address bar. • Optionally show each site's icon from your browser's own favicon cache. Nothing is downloaded. • Unknown bangs are sent to your default search engine as a normal search. Search and navigation • Searches without a bang use your browser's default search engine. • Website addresses open directly: example.com opens the site, while next.js is searched. • Local addresses such as localhost:3000, printer.local and 192.168.1.1 open over HTTP. • Press / to jump to the search field. Make it yours • Light and dark appearance that follows your system, or pick one. Choose a Blended or Helium dark background. • Optional clock and date, with 12-hour or 24-hour time and optional seconds. • Use fonts installed on your device for the interface, clock, date and search field. • 37 interface languages. • Settings sync to your other devices when your browser syncs extension data. Privacy No accounts, ads, analytics or telemetry, and opening a new tab makes no external network requests. The bang catalog ships with the extension. • search: sends the searches you submit to your browser's default search engine. • storage: saves your settings and lets your browser sync them. • favicon (optional, off by default): shows site icons your browser has already saved, only after you turn on service icons.
