Overview
Shows startup engineering velocity signals on Crunchbase and Wellfound. Free GitHub-based data for deal flow analysis.
See GitHub engineering momentum on the Crunchbase and Wellfound profiles you already use for deal-flow research, so you can spot an accelerating startup before the round is announced. WHAT THE BADGE SHOWS A compact badge appears on Crunchbase organization pages and Wellfound company pages with a live status: "Accelerating" (green), "Steady" (gray), or "Decelerating" (amber). Hover it for the underlying numbers: • Commits (14 days): how much code the team has shipped in the last two weeks • Velocity change: whether that rate is rising or falling vs the prior window • Contributors: active developers on the public repositories • Signal type: the pattern behind the move (hiring burst, infrastructure buildout, framework migration, deploy-frequency spike) Click through to the full sector rankings to see every tracked startup side by side. WHY IT MATTERS Fundraise announcements are a lagging indicator. By the time a round appears on Crunchbase, the engineering ramp that justified it usually happened weeks earlier. Public commit velocity is one of the few signals that moves first. Across a documented panel of 219 fundraises, engineering acceleration preceded the public announcement by 21 to 47 days. This badge puts that leading indicator directly on the profiles you already research. WHERE THE DATA COMES FROM Everything is derived from the public GitHub API. GitDealFlow tracks 400+ startups across 15 sectors, refreshed weekly. No self-reported fundraising data, no scraped decks, no paywalled databases. If a company isn't in the tracked set yet, the badge says so honestly instead of guessing. PRIVACY Free, no account, no API key. The extension reads only the company slug from the URL of the page you're on, makes a single request to signals.gitdealflow.com, and renders the badge. No browsing history, no analytics, no third-party trackers, no data collection. WHO IT'S FOR Angels, scouts, seed funds, and corporate-development teams who source early-stage deals on Crunchbase and Wellfound and want a quantitative leading indicator without leaving their workflow.
