Overview

Manage request and response headers with local rules for one site or every site.

HeaderPilot is a local-first HTTP header editor built for developers, testers, and API workflows. Create request or response header rules, choose exactly where they apply, and reload the active tab—all from Chrome's side panel. Key features: • Add, replace, append, or remove request and response headers. • Apply profiles only to the current site or explicitly enable a global profile. • Keep site-specific rules above global defaults when both match. • Pause every profile with one control. • Optionally follow tab switches and navigation with Auto-connect tabs. • Mask common authentication values in the interface. • Remove a profile and its unused website permission together. Privacy by design: • No analytics, advertising, accounts, or remote backend. • No content scripts and no page DOM access. • Profiles remain in local Chrome extension storage. • Website access is requested at runtime for the scope selected by the user. • Auto-connect's tabs permission is optional and requested only when enabled. Important security note: Chrome extension storage is not a password vault. Prefer short-lived development credentials, and use global rules carefully because a global header can be sent to every HTTP and HTTPS website while enabled.
