Overview

Share a tab, not your whole screen. Quiet extension panels for media, pages and opt-in app state.

Same page. Good company. lkjparty lets friends share a selected browser tab in an invitation-only party. Open a small side panel, start a party on the current page, and send an invite. No lkjparty account is required; you can use the suggested nickname or choose your own. SHARED CONTROLS The host can enable Dashboard → Party controls → Everyone can control, keeping ownership while participants change playback, navigate and share enabled scroll, pointer or integrated app state. The setting starts off. Invitations, locking and host transfer remain host-only. Everyone needs 0.4.0 or newer; joining with an older client restores host-only control. WHAT YOU CAN DO - Coordinate accessible video and audio playback, pausing, position and speed. - Follow the selected shared tab between permitted websites. Scroll synchronization is off by default and can be enabled for page and nested-container scrolling. - Chat, send reactions, see participants and check synchronization status. - Enable optional pointer sharing or application-state sharing for sites with an integration. - Lock the party, replace its invitation link, or transfer hosting. - Close the panel and continue using the original page while synchronization runs. HOW TO START 1. Open an ordinary web page or a public YouTube video, click the lkjparty toolbar icon, and start a party. 2. Approve access to the site you selected and copy the invitation. 3. Friends with lkjparty installed open the invitation and click "Join party". 4. They click "Open & sync" in the panel and approve site access if asked. 5. If the browser requires a playback gesture, click the amber "Enable playback & sync" button on the video page. Blue controls show the next action, amber identifies attention needed, and green "In sync" confirms a measured playback match. Text and symbols explain the same states without relying on color. If playback falls behind, use "Sync again". The English interface supports light and dark appearances, with Chat, Dashboard and More views. Chat includes timestamps, multiline input, unread counts and Back to latest. Drafts remain available when delivery is rejected, offline or unconfirmed. SITE ACCESS AND PRIVACY Before sharing or connecting, Follow across websites offers optional access to HTTP/HTTPS websites for continuous navigation. Approve the browser dialog, or turn it off and grant each site individually. Access can be changed in More. A browser grant may persist until you revoke it, but the synchronization engine is injected only into the selected tab. The extension does not request access to all websites at installation. Pointer and application-state sharing are off by default. Application sharing requires a compatible integration and your opt-in; arbitrary form input, keystrokes and clicks are not mirrored. Selected page URLs, enabled playback/scroll/navigation state, nicknames, chat and reactions reach the room service and other participants. Opt-in pointer coordinates and application data are also shared when enabled. Page titles stay local. Connections use TLS; room messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Avoid sharing private URLs or sensitive chat and use invitations only with people you trust. See the privacy policy for local storage, network metadata and retention. COMPATIBILITY AND LIMITS Standard seekable YouTube videos, accessible HTML video/audio and ordinary pages are the main use cases. Compatibility depends on the site: cross-origin frames, closed shadow roots, live or infinite timelines, different layouts and DRM restrictions can prevent accurate synchronization. Signed-in and restricted video services, including authenticated d-anime playback, are not comprehensively verified. Each participant needs their own access or subscription. lkjparty does not transmit video or audio streams, capture your screen, share provider passwords or cookies, skip ads, or bypass access restrictions. Recognized advertisements pause synchronization and play normally. Volume, subtitles and quality remain personal. This is an early release for up to 12 participants. The service runs on the maintainer's home server; availability depends on it remaining online. Rooms last at most 6 hours. Room data is held in server memory, with up to 80 recent chat/reaction entries subject to a size limit, and disappears on expiry or restart. All participants need matching 0.4.0 extensions; reload previously shared pages and start a new party after updating. lkjparty is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google, YouTube or the websites you choose to share.
