HCC Buddy puts ICD-10-CM lookup beside your work in Chrome. Open the side panel for a quick search, or use the full Encoder when you need room to review the code path and instructions. Use HCC Buddy to: • Search by ICD-10-CM code or a general coding term. • Check the code description, billable status, and available HCC reference details. • Read available direct and inherited coding instructions, including seventh-character definitions. • Browse related codes and bookmark codes to revisit. • Ask focused coding questions in Ask Buddy, subject to source coverage and your plan. • Open NPI provider search and drug reference tools from the side panel. Select a code or general diagnosis term, then use the right-click lookup menu to open HCC Buddy. You can also open the side panel from the extension icon. Edition and model coverage The full Encoder uses the active extension edition. Supported historical selections open the web Code Book; some older editions are unavailable. Historical ICD-10-CM references do not imply that the extension supports every model or payment year. Check the context shown with the result. When instructions cannot be verified, HCC Buddy shows an availability message and a retry action. Available code identity stays visible. Account and access An HCC Buddy account and an internet connection are required for online tools. Some features require a paid plan. See hccbuddy.com/pricing for current access and limits.
