Organise your ChatGPT Projects, locally. GPTool gives you search, sorting, folders, and a keyboard-friendly launcher for ChatGPT Projects, while keeping your project organisation on your own machine. I built GPTool because I had too many ChatGPT Projects and the sidebar had stopped being enough. It’s a small tool for getting back to the right project faster, without adding another account, another sync layer, or another place to work. GPTool reads the ChatGPT Projects list from the page you already have open, builds a local snapshot, and gives you an organisation layer on top. It doesn’t create, edit, or delete anything inside ChatGPT. It doesn’t send messages, pretend to be an agent, or take product-level actions on your behalf. Once your projects are collected, you can search by name or keyword, sort by latest, oldest, A–Z, or Z–A, and organise projects into local folders. Unfiled projects stay available, and your ChatGPT project data remains unchanged. Privacy is deliberately simple. GPTool stores organisation data in Chrome browser storage on your machine. There’s no GPTool account, no remote sync, and no GPTool server sitting behind it. GPTool is open source. You don’t have to take my word for it: you can inspect the code, install it from source, and see how it works. The extension is also designed to be keyboard-friendly. You can open the panel from the browser toolbar, the in-page launcher, or a keyboard shortcut. Focus stays visible, the main controls are reachable without a mouse, and row menus provide a keyboard path for managing folders and projects. This first version is focused on projects and organisation. Conversations, cloud sync, deep folder nesting, third-party integrations, and AI-driven automation are not part of the current release.
