Tether is a watch party extension for two people in different places. It works with the streaming services you already have. Press play, pause, or skip ahead, and the other screen follows within a fraction of a second. You don't need a video call or screen sharing, and nobody has to count down to press play. How it works • Send your invite link once. When they open it, they land on the same show at the same moment. • Open a show and click Watch together. They get an invite on their screen and join with one tap. • You each watch with your own account, in your own browser. What it takes care of • If one of you drifts a little behind, Tether corrects it while you watch, even across countries and time zones. • On plans with ads, Tether waits for the ad break to end and then brings you back together, even if you each get different ads. • The show keeps playing if you switch to another tab or window. • It's free, and there's no account to create. While you watch • Chat right on the video, including in fullscreen. • Send emoji reactions that float up over the picture. • A short note tells you when your partner pauses, skips, or changes the speed. • If they move to another episode, you can follow with one click. • Playback speed stays the same on both sides. • Keep shared notes for what to watch next. • Tether is available in English, Español, Português, Français, Deutsch, हिन्दी, and 日本語. Privacy Tether shares nothing until you start a session or accept an invite. A session ends when you end it, or after 30 minutes with no video open. Your room opens only with its code or invite link. Tether never reads the video itself, only playback timing, and you can delete your chat and notes at any time.
