Your browser is haunted. Subtle, spooky effects as you browse. No tracking, no network calls.

Chrome shows a standard warning for any extension that can run on all websites. Haunted only uses that to draw its spooky effects. It never reads, stores or sends anything from your pages, and it makes no network requests at all. Browse as normal and every so often something creepy happens: text glitches, an image drains to grey, a ghost peeks over the edge of the window, the tab title says something unsettling. Turn it up and spiders scurry across the page while blood drips down from the corner of the window. A fun Halloween prank for yourself, or any day you fancy a scare. Choose how scary you want it: - Gentle: a flicker now and then - Poltergeist: things start to move - Exorcism needed: the lights stutter and a lone spider scurries past - Abandon all hope: spiders pour across the page and blood seeps in from the corner of the window Spiders can be switched off in the popup, and the whisper sound is off by default. Safe by design - Everything is cosmetic and undone automatically. Pages are left exactly as they were found. - One click on "Banish all ghosts" (or the shortcut Alt+Shift+H) stops everything straight away. - Banks, payment pages, email, work tools, login forms and anything with a password or card field are never haunted. - Add your own "don't haunt this site" exclusions from the popup. - Respects your computer's reduced-motion setting: no spiders, and nothing flashes. - The effects never block clicks on the page.
