Overview
Hash and verify passwords or files locally. Bcrypt, MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512. English and Russian. No network requests.
HashMint generates and verifies hashes directly in your browser. Use bcrypt for passwords and MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256 or SHA-512 for file checksums and compatibility checks. LIVE HASHING Start typing and selected hashes update automatically. No Generate button is needed. Slow bcrypt calculations run separately from fast checksums, and outdated calculations are cancelled when you edit the input. Text is visible by default; choose Hide input when you need masking. VERIFY EXISTING HASHES Compare a password or text with an existing hash, or verify a file checksum. bcrypt verification supports $2a$, $2b$ and PHP $2y$ hashes. A clear result shows whether the supplied input matches. YOUR ALGORITHMS AND FORMAT Choose which algorithms appear. Copy one result or all completed selected results. Switch between Hex, Base64 and grouped hexadecimal for checksums; bcrypt retains its standard encoding. Adjust bcrypt cost from 10 to 16. FILES AND LANGUAGES Select or drop a file up to 50 MiB to hash its original bytes. Zero-byte files are supported. The interface is available in English and Russian. LOCAL PROCESSING All code, fonts and calculations are bundled and run on your device. HashMint makes no automatic network requests and has no analytics, accounts or advertising. It processes only the text, passwords, hashes and files you explicitly provide. These inputs are not sent to REcalc or other parties and are not saved in persistent extension storage. WHY STORAGE IS REQUESTED The storage permission remembers only four preferences on this device: language, selected algorithms, output format and bcrypt cost. Input and results remain in the open window’s memory and are cleared with Clear or when the popup closes. Copied hashes remain in your system clipboard according to your system settings. IMPORTANT LIMITS Hashing is one-way; HashMint does not decrypt passwords or hashes and is not a password manager. Among the included algorithms, use bcrypt for password hashing. MD5 and SHA-1 are legacy checksum algorithms; plain SHA-256 and SHA-512 are not password storage schemes. bcrypt input is limited to 72 UTF-8 bytes and is never silently truncated. Text input is limited to 1 MiB. Existing bcrypt hashes above cost 16 are rejected to bound local computation. By REcalc · recalc.ru
