HappyTab is a bookmark manager on your new tab page. Install it to replace the default new tab with a local workspace: save the pages you actually use into groups, keep currently open tabs in view, and optionally add a small todo list on the same page. No account and no HappyTab server. Data stays on this device unless you export a backup or turn on sync to storage you already own. WHAT YOU GET • Bookmark groups on the new tab page. Save a page, drag it into a group, and reorder groups or links. • Open tabs by window. Switch to a tab, close it, or save it as a HappyTab bookmark. • Local backup. Export JSON, then import it on another machine (merge or replace). • Optional sync to storage you own: JSONBin, GitHub Gist, Cloudflare KV, Upstash Redis, or a custom HTTPS endpoint. You can encrypt the snapshot before upload. • Themes (system, light, dark, or a custom color) and 8 languages: English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, and German. WHY INSTALL Browser bookmarks and a blank new tab are easy to ignore. HappyTab puts the links you use every day on the page you already open, next to the tabs you already have open. It is not the browser’s bookmark bar and does not sync Chrome bookmarks. PRIVACY Works without login. HappyTab does not collect your data. Open-tab titles and URLs are used only to show and save tabs on this page. Remote upload happens only after you enable sync, and only to a store you configure. Installing this extension replaces your new tab page. The search box on the page only filters open tabs; HappyTab is not a search engine and does not change your default search.
