An account is needed (email and password, made on our website when you add the extension). The extension only sends your sign-in key, the number of minutes dark mode was in use, its version and your time zone. It never reads or sends your ads, accounts, reports, page text or the addresses you visit. Everything that changes the look happens on your device.
