hangout is a browser extension for watching videos together with friends. It keeps everyone’s playback in sync on every website with a video, including embedded players. Share a movie night, follow a series or watch videos together, wherever you are. Open a video, start a hangout and send your friends the invite link. The link is copied automatically, and friends can join with the link or a 6-character code. No account needed. Play, pause, seek and change playback speed together. If someone’s video is still loading, playback pauses for everyone until they’re ready. When the host opens the next video, everyone follows. You choose whether everyone can control playback or only the host. hangout stays in your normal browser tab, with a small pill on the video. Hover over it to see who’s watching and who’s behind. Save the hangouts you use regularly so you can return to them next time. Start a hangout from the browser toolbar, the button on the video or the right-click menu.
