HandyBar helps you highlight text on any page, take notes with their original sources, read without distractions, and find your notes again when you need them. Everything lives in Chrome's side panel, right next to the page you're reading. A web highlighter, side panel notes, reading mode, a tab saver and a focus timer in one place. No scattered notes. No lost highlights. No need to switch between tools just to keep what matters. READ WITHOUT DISTRACTIONS • Reading Mode turns a cluttered article into clean, easy-to-read text. HandyBar offers it on pages it recognizes as articles. • Dark Mode darkens every website with one switch, for comfortable late-night reading. Skip the sites that already look good, and HandyBar's own panel turns dark too. CAPTURE WHAT MATTERS • Highlight and take notes: select text on any page and save it as a highlight, together with its page. Click "Save to HandyBar notes", right-click, or press Alt+Shift+S. • Add quick notes for ideas, observations or things to explore later, right beside the page instead of in another tab. • Open a saved highlight to jump back to the exact passage that caught your attention. REMEMBER WHERE YOU READ IT • Come back to a page and your saved highlights are marked right where you left them. Your notes on websites stay with the websites. • Every note keeps its source page and title, so useful information never loses its context. FIND YOUR NOTES AGAIN • Search your notes and saved highlights when you need to revisit an idea. • Copy one note or all of them into Google Docs, Notion, Obsidian, Word or an email. They're grouped by page, with links back to each passage, ready for research notes, reading notes or a paper. • Edit notes, and undo accidental deletions. KEEP YOUR BROWSING ORGANIZED • Save tabs for later: keep a group of tabs as a named session, then close them to clear your workspace. • Save single tabs too, grouped by website automatically. • Reopen one page or a whole session whenever you need it. STAY FOCUSED • Pomodoro Focus, a focus timer for better productivity: 25/5, 50/10 or your own work and break lengths. • Block distracting websites during work sessions, with a five-minute unblock when you really need one. • A soft chime when a session ends, and the minutes left on HandyBar's toolbar icon. • See your focus today and over the last 7 days. • The timer keeps running when the side panel is closed. USE THE TOOLS YOU NEED • Zoom in or out, print pages, or save them as PDFs. With Reading Mode on, you get just the article. • Take a screenshot of the visible page or of an area you select. • A short tour on first use, and Settings to adjust each tool. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Your notes, saved tabs and settings stay on your computer. • Back up everything to one file, and restore it on a new computer. • Optional, anonymous usage statistics help improve HandyBar, only after you opt in.
