Hako VPN is a rule-based proxy with split tunneling for Chrome: your rules decide which sites use which server, and which sites connect directly. HOW IT WORKS 1. Install it. Hako VPN creates an anonymous account for you automatically, with no email or password. 2. Click the cat-box icon and turn on the switch. 3. Pick a mode: • Rules (default): sites that match one of your rules use the server you set for that rule, or connect directly. Sites in mainland China (.cn domains and addresses in the built-in China IP list) connect directly. Everything else goes through the proxy. • Global: every site in Chrome goes through the proxy. SITE RULES • Add a domain by hand, or type a service name to add all of its domains in one step • Send each rule to the server you choose, or set it to connect directly • Rules are checked from top to bottom, and the first match wins SERVERS • A built-in latency test shows how each server responds from where you are • Leave it on Automatic and Hako VPN picks a server for you TOOLBAR ICON The icon shows the current state at a glance: empty box = off, black box = Rules, colored box = Global.
