H1-H6 SEO Inspector (modern & with explanations)

Overview
The modern H1-H6 SEO Inspector quickly checks headings, title & meta description and gives tips for fixing the errors.
The H1-H6 SEO Inspector shows the full heading structure of the current page in one click and surfaces common SEO problems. What it checks: • H1–H6 as a clear, indented outline with a colour code per level • Number of headings per level (H1 to H6) • Missing or multiple H1 • Headings with no text • Headings that are invisible on the page (display:none or similar) • Skipped hierarchy levels (e.g. H2 directly followed by H4) • Page title (<title>) length against Google's guidance • Meta description length against Google's guidance Find and fix issues fast: • Clicking a message highlights the affected headings in the list and briefly marks them directly on the web page • Per heading: jump to it on the page, or show its CSS path + HTML snippet (with "Copy", to locate it in the page source or your CMS) • "View source" button opens the page source • "Fix" button opens a detailed explanation of page titles, meta descriptions and heading structure on the extension's website Privacy: The extension runs entirely locally in your browser. It collects, stores, and transmits no data, there is no account and no tracking. It only acts on the tab you are currently viewing, and only when you click its icon. Available in German, English, Spanish and French. Single Purpose Description The extension has a single purpose: it analyses the heading structure (H1–H6), the page title and the meta description of the currently open page for SEO problems, shows the result in a popup, and helps the user locate flagged spots on the page or in the page source. Justification for activeTab The extension needs to read the content (DOM) of exactly the page the user is viewing — only after the user clicks the extension icon, and only for that one tab. activeTab grants precisely this minimal, user-initiated access without broad host permissions for all websites. Justification for scripting chrome.scripting.executeScript is used for two things: Reading the headings (H1–H6), the <title> and the meta description from the active page so they can be evaluated in the popup. Briefly highlighting a flagged heading directly on the page when the user clicks it in the popup (a temporary overlay that removes itself after about 2 seconds and does not permanently change the page DOM). All code ships inside the extension package; no code is loaded from external servers. Justification for downloads Not used — the extension does not request this permission. Other sensitive permissions None. No host_permissions, storage, clipboardWrite or other sensitive permissions are requested. The "Copy" feature uses a short-lived text field inside the popup (user-initiated) and therefore needs no clipboard permission. Data usage (dashboard declarations) • No user data is collected or used. • No data is sold or shared with third parties. • No data is transmitted to any server; all analysis runs locally.
