Ever watching a live nature cam — a reef, a nest, a waterhole — and someone in chat says "check out 15:48:14"? Getting there means dragging the scrubber around, estimating, overshooting, and fiddling to arrive at a precise moment. Gulliver eliminates the hassle. This extension is free. No ads. Forever. HOW TO USE IT 1. Open a YouTube live stream that displays an on-screen clock. 2. Click the compass icon in your browser's toolbar — the box appears over the player. 3. Select the stream's time zone (just once per stream — it's remembered). 4. Type the time you want to see, as shown on the stream's clock, and press Enter. 5. Drag the box anywhere you like. Click the compass again to hide it. FIRST TIME USE ON A NEW STREAM On a new stream the settings panel opens automatically when Gulliver loads — pick the stream's time zone and it closes. To change it later (if time zone was entered wrong by accident), or to set an offset, click the gear. KEYBOARD CONTROLS (while typing in the input box) L — back to the live edge P — pause or resume (handy for grabbing a screenshot of the moment) ← → — nudge 5 seconds WORKS ON Any YouTube live stream that shows an on-screen clock displaying 24-hour time, or "military time," and keeps a rewindable buffer — wildlife cams and similar round-the-clock feeds. Desktop only. WHY IT'S ACCURATE Gulliver reads the stream's own broadcast timing rather than guessing from the scrubber, so it never drifts and never needs recalibrating. It also verifies where it landed and corrects itself, so you arrive on the moment you asked for — not near it. OFFSET (Behind the gear icon): For most streams: leave it at 0. A few broadcasters set their clocks differently; on those streams, jumps may land at a consistent offset — enter the difference in seconds and the extension remembers it. PRIVACY Gulliver collects nothing. No accounts, no tracking, no data leaves your browser, and it makes no network requests. The only thing it stores is your per-stream time zone and offset choices, saved locally on your own device. VERSION 1.4 A rebuild of how jumps find their target time, and a fix for a bug that could report a moment as missing when it was really there. Hardened to function accurately on streams with above normal outage activity. - On streams that have had dropouts, some jumps could wrongly say "Stream was down then" for a time that existed, and land a few seconds off. Fixed. - Jumps now settle reliably on any stream, including badly interrupted ones. Previously a jump could fail to settle and give up. - A time that was never recorded — because the camera was down — now says so plainly and places you just before the missing stretch. - Times too old for the rewind buffer, and times not yet broadcast, each say so instead of failing silently. - Pressing Enter or L during a jump now waits for it to finish rather than starting a second one. - If a jump takes more than a moment, the box now tells you it is still working rather than sitting on a frozen frame. - Status messages stay on screen a little longer. No new permissions, files, or network activity. FINAL NOTE At any point YouTube could change how their API works, causing bugs or completely breaking the extension.
