Processes anyone can follow. With Guidelane Companion, you can turn any workflow into a step by step visual guide. Save a capture and share it with people inside Guidelane, or outside it. Whether you're onboarding new team members, documenting a process, or writing a support article, you can capture and share knowledge right where the work happens. ⚡ Quick Access Instead of opening guides from a bookmark or pinned tab, open the latest one right from the extension. 🎦 Capture Open the extension, start recording, and click through the workflow as you usually do. We capture the important interactions: clicks, scrolling, typing, and moving back and forth. When you're done, review it, save it, and open it in Guidelane. From there you can polish it or share it with the people who need it. 🗺️ Journeys Journeys are live, interactive walkthroughs for your captured guides. Instead of just visually looking at what was recorded, Journeys do exactly as the name suggests, they journey you through the recorded guide step-by-step on the live website, highlighting every step along the way with descriptive pop-ups explaining what each step does. At the end you not only do what the guide is supposed to teach you, but you actually learn by doing it. Journeys have two modes, Guided and Autopilot. Guided mode puts you in the driver's seat, the Journey only tells you where and how you need to do something, but you do the actual steps. Autopilot is more autonomous and goes through the workflow on its own, if it needs a decision from you, such as confirming a payment or typing something, it pauses and asks. You decide how much it is allowed to do on its own. 🔁 Automations An automation lets you supply the values a Journey would otherwise stop and ask you for, such as typing in your own personal information, picking dates, selecting from a drop-down list, so a journey can run from start to finish on its own. Created one from the Automations panel for any guide captured from the Guidelane Companion extension, it can be run instead of a Journey whenever you want a hands-free, custom-tailored automated journey with your own data that differs from the recorded guide. 🔄 Resilient targeting Websites often get updated or re-designed. Guidelane looks at several clues — labels, structure, position and more — to find the right button or field again, and remembers what worked so future runs benefit too. 🧪 Tests you can run again Record a flow as a test, including the result you expect. Useful if your team wants to check that a product still behaves the way it should, it also generates a runnable Playwright test and posts CI results back to the guide. Included in the Business plan. 🗂️ Several workspaces Belong to more than one Guidelane workspace? Switch between them from the extension, without reconnecting. 🔐 Your information stays protected Passwords, card numbers, phone numbers, one-time codes, and other sensitive details are blurred in screenshots before anything is saved. What you type into forms is not stored and not uploaded. That is also why a replay always stops and asks you to fill those fields in yourself. 📝 Optional descriptions, written on your computer Chrome's built-in local LLM can write a short description for each step on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, all data is processed and remains on your own device. This is off by default and fully opt-in. 🚀 Getting started You'll need a Guidelane account and access to a workspace. Open Guidelane, pick your organization, and connect Guidelane Companion.
