GStars

Overview
Search any GitHub user's starred repositories in natural language, ranked by relevance.
GStars helps you find repositories among the GitHub stars you (or anyone else) have collected, just by describing what you need in plain language. WHY YOU NEED IT Starring a repository is easy. Finding it again months later is not. After a few hundred stars, GitHub's Stars page becomes a long list you can only filter by simple keywords, so you have to remember the exact project name. Most people end up searching the web again for a tool they already saved. WHAT GSTARS DOES GStars adds a smart search box to the top of any GitHub user's Stars page. Type what you are looking for, for example "a CLI tool written in Rust", "run LLMs locally" or "React form validation library", and GStars finds the matching repositories among all of that user's stars, ranked by how well each one fits your request. It understands the repository name, description, topics and README, not just the title. WHY INSTALL GSTARS • Rediscover your own stars: turn years of saved repositories into a searchable personal library. • Learn from other developers: search the curated stars of well-known developers to find the tools they rely on. • Describe, don't remember: search by what a project does, not by its name. • English, Chinese or mixed queries all work. • Private by design: your stars, READMEs and search index are stored only in your browser. There is no GStars server and no tracking. • Fast: about 1,500 starred repositories sync in roughly 35 seconds and stay up to date automatically. • Free and open source (MIT). HOW TO USE 1. Open the options page and enter a GitHub token (no permissions needed) and a Jev API key. 2. Click the toolbar icon and enter a GitHub username, or open any Stars page, such as github.com/{user}?tab=stars. 3. Wait for the first sync, type what you need and press Enter. WHAT YOU NEED Relevance ranking uses the Jev API by TypeSafe (console.typesafe.ai), which you pay for with your own key. Your query and public repository information are sent to TypeSafe for scoring. Without a Jev key, GStars shows keyword matches only. Privacy policy: https://github.com/DracoYan-111/GStars/blob/master/PRIVACY.md Source code: https://github.com/DracoYan-111/GStars
