Overview
Dark mode for Google Search Console. Light, Dark or Device default, from the GSC header. Charts and tiles keep their colours.
At Search Central Live Barcelona 2026, a Search Console dark mode was "announced" on stage. Google later confirmed it was a joke. This one is real. WHAT YOU GET • A theme switch in the Search Console header. It sits beside the Help icon and offers Light theme, Dark theme and Device default, which follows your operating system. • Real colours where they matter. A plain colour inversion turns the Clicks, Impressions, CTR and Position tiles into washed-out pastels. GSC Dark Mode detects those brand-coloured surfaces and keeps them, so blue stays blue and the white numbers stay readable. Chart lines keep their colours, and favicons, avatars and images are left untouched. • No white flash. Your theme applies before the page draws, including when you move between reports. • Adjustable darkness, from a soft grey to near-black. • Keyboard shortcut. Alt+Shift+D switches between light and dark from anywhere in Search Console. • Works across every report: Performance, URL Inspection, Pages, Sitemaps, Core Web Vitals, Links, Settings and the rest. PRIVACY No account, no server and no data collection. The extension saves only your display preferences in Chrome's own storage. It makes no network requests, has no analytics and runs only on search.google.com/search-console. GSC Dark Mode is an independent extension. It is not made, endorsed or affiliated with Google.
