Grove – Tree Style Tab & Session Manager with Notes

Grove is a tree style tab manager that lives in Chrome's side panel. It shows every open window and tab as a tree, next to the page you are reading. Close a window and it stays as a saved window, ready to restore when you want that session back. Add notes, groups and divider lines between tabs, and arrange everything by dragging. WHAT YOU CAN DO • See all your windows and tabs in one view that updates as you browse. • Save & close a window in one click. Its tabs stay listed, and Restore reopens them in a new window. You can also reopen a single saved tab. • Keep closed tabs. Tabs you close inside an open window can stay listed (you can turn this off). Closing a whole window always keeps its tabs. "Clear closed" removes them when you are done. • Write notes. Add a note anywhere, give any tab or window your own title and a longer note, and nest tabs under a note to use it as a folder. • Organize with groups and dividers. Groups work as folders. Divider lines come in dashed, double and dotted styles. • Drag and drop to reorder or nest items. Moving an open tab inside an open window moves it in the browser too. • Search titles, notes and web addresses at once. • Use the keyboard: arrow keys move and expand, Alt+arrows reorder and indent, Enter opens or restores, F2 edits, Delete removes a closed item. • After a browser restart, windows that the browser reopens are linked back to their saved place when their tab addresses match. BACKUPS YOU CAN SEE • Grove saves a JSON backup to your Downloads folder (in a "Grove" subfolder) about every 30 minutes when something has changed. "Backup now" makes one immediately. • Export everything at any time, and import a Grove file to restore it. MOVING FROM ANOTHER TOOL Grove can import .tree export files made by Tabs Outliner. Saved windows, tabs, notes, groups, dividers, collapsed branches, custom titles and colors are brought in under an "Imported" folder, and notes keep the items nested inside them. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No account, no sign-in, no server. Your data is stored in your browser profile. • No analytics, no ads, no remote code. • No access to page content: Grove asks for no website permissions. It uses only tabs, storage, sidePanel, downloads (for backups) and alarms (to schedule them). • Private (incognito) windows are ignored and never recorded. Requires Chrome 116 or later.
