WhatsApp does not store a number for every member on your device. In ordinary groups almost everyone exports with a number; in Community announcement groups WhatsApp withholds them by design, so no tool can return them. The extension tells you exactly how many came back blank after each run, so you are never guessing. Can I export a group without opening it? Yes. Pick any group from the searchable list — you do not need to open the chat or scroll the member list first. Do I need to be an admin? No. Ordinary membership is enough in a normal group. Can I save a group's contacts before leaving it? Yes, and that is one of the most common reasons people use it.
