Overview

Cited, evidence-based resume-to-job matching — met / partially met / missing. No fake match score, ever.

Most "resume match" tools hand you a percentage — "73% match" — with no explanation of what's actually missing or why. That number is made up. Nobody can compress "does this person fit this job" into one figure, so tools that try are just guessing with extra confidence. Grounded Resume Checker replaces the fake score with a grounded method: every requirement in a job posting gets one of three honest verdicts — met, partially met, or missing — and every non-missing verdict cites the exact sentence from your own background that supports it. If there's nothing to point to, the honest answer is "missing," no matter how plausible you seem. WHAT IT DOES • Extracts every real requirement from a job posting — not just keywords, the actual asks • Tags each one: required, knockout (a genuine hard gate — work auth, license, clearance), or nice-to-have — so you know what actually matters • Cites your own background text for every match, word for word • Flags anything it can't verify instead of guessing • Optional "your facts" section (driver's license, lifting capacity, languages, work authorization) resolves the requirements no resume bullet naturally states, deterministically — not left to AI guesswork GRAB TEXT AUTOMATICALLY Pulls the job description straight from most job boards — tries structured data first (works cleanly on LinkedIn, Greenhouse, Lever, Workday and similar), falls back to smart article extraction on sites that don't have it. UPLOAD YOUR RESUME extraction happens entirely in your browser, the file never leaves it. BRING YOUR OWN KEY, YOUR CHOICE OF PROVIDER Use your own Anthropic API key, or any model available through OpenRouter (OpenAI, Google, Meta, and dozens more) — your key, your model, direct to the provider, never through us. No key at all? Falls back to Chrome's built-in on-device AI automatically, free, no setup. PRIVACY No backend of ours in the analysis path. Your job posting and resume text go straight from your browser to whichever provider you chose, using your own key. We never see it. Full privacy policy linked below. Part of the TechTrendWire resume-tailoring toolkit — this extension is free and always will be. A paid bundle (evidence-base template, application tracker, and the standalone automated version of this method) is available separately for anyone who wants the full pipeline.
