Ground News - Bias Checker

The Extension doesn't seem to cover any of the news sites I actually use. Now they won't let me cancel subscription I don't want, Complete waste of money.

Got locked into a subscription with them that I really don't want or need, customer service was pretty rude, prefer mediabiasfactcheck it's free, and community run will just stick with them in future.

Ground new is in my opinion a scam, I think you should not trust them to follow legal or ethical rules around subscriptions

It doesn't work. I bought Ground News subscription. I installed this extension on my Chrome and it never works. I go to a BBC article for example and the auto information on the top doesn't pop up. If I try to manually click on the extension the extension says "This doesn't look like a recognised news article" (BBC, really?!). What's wrong with all of this? How do I make it work like in this video?

I really like the idea of this extension, however, it just seems to not load on or recognize major outlets regularly. I can't see any info on any NYTimes articles, also issues with BBC, CNN. I assumed these large outlets would have been easiest to confirm this is working properly.

Because the NYT is not on the Ground News platform it won't work within the extension. However, we'd like to learn more about the issues with BBC and CNN. I like your app a lot, however i dont need it working on every page i visit. Thus when i set the permission to 'this app can read site data' > on click or only on allowed sites i expect it to sit quietly in the background until needed. However the domain name 'extension.ground.news' is still the top queried domain on my dns server whilst browsing. I didnt get my wireshark out try see further details... I think it should respect permissions, and be quiet in the background unless it has acc... Show more

Good to be aware of the bias of the news sites we read on the regular. My only criticism is there's too much going on in the UI. It would be nice to be able to see the owner of a news site at a glance as well since some sites are owned by one conglomerate.

If youo want one browser extention to handle your news, this is it! I read ALOT and the extention helps me prioritize what I am reading so I don't end up caught in other people's fantacies...
