Gradium - Read & Transcribe

Gradium voice API in Chrome: read any selection aloud, transcribe or translate live what a tab plays.

Read Aloud • Select text on any page and click the Read pill, or click Read and pick a paragraph (Shift-click reads to the end of the page). • An underline follows the words as they are spoken, and citation marks and editorial brackets are skipped. • No key needed: Phonon, Gradium's on-device model, reads in your browser for free, privately and offline. It speaks English, French, German, Spanish and Portuguese, with about 100 voices, and downloads once (137 MB). • With a free API key, Gradium's cloud voices read every language, with speed control. Switch back to on-device reading anytime in settings. • Text is read in a voice of its own language. Pick your default voice in settings. Transcribe • When a tab starts playing sound (a video, a podcast, a meeting), the pill offers to transcribe it. • Live captions appear at the bottom of the page as people speak. • You can also transcribe your microphone. • Copy the full transcript from the panel at any time. Translate • Translate what a tab is playing into another language, live. • You hear a translated voice over the quieter original, with movie-style subtitles on the page. • Voice matching picks the voice closest to the original speaker. Always in Control • Everything starts from a small pill at the bottom right of the page. Pause or stop anytime. • Open the panel with the toolbar icon or Alt+Shift+G: what's running, your history, and the credits each session used. • Right-click any page to transcribe or translate the tab. • Hide the pill entirely if you prefer to start things from the toolbar. What You Need Nothing, to read on your device. For Gradium's cloud voices in every language, speed control, transcription and translation, add a Gradium API key: create one for free at gradium.ai and paste it into the extension's settings. These use your Gradium credits; the panel shows your balance and what each session cost. Privacy Reading on your device keeps your text in your browser: nothing is sent, and nothing is kept in your history. Only the voice model itself is downloaded from Gradium, once. With an API key, text you choose to read with Gradium's cloud voices, and audio you choose to transcribe or translate, are sent to the Gradium API only to produce speech, transcripts or translations. Your settings and history stay in your browser. No analytics, no tracking, no ads.
