Fill your client's GoRefer intake data into your professional tax software, instead of re-typing it by hand.

Your client already typed this once. GoRefer Autofill puts their intake data into your tax software so you don't type it again. A client completes their intake in GoRefer — identity, dependents, income, deductions, credits, bank details. Traditionally someone at the firm then re-keys all of it into professional tax software. That takes twenty minutes a return, and it is where transposed digits come from. GoRefer Autofill closes that gap. Open the client's return in your tax software, open the GoRefer side panel beside it, choose the client, and the data they already gave you goes into the form while you watch. HOW IT WORKS Sign in with your GoRefer account; the extension does nothing until you do. Open your client's return, then open the panel from the toolbar icon or with Ctrl+Shift+G (Cmd+Shift+G on a Mac). It docks beside the return rather than floating over it, so you can see both at once. Choose your client from your firm's list, which shows intake completion and separates the returns that are ready from the ones still in progress. Read the intake before anything is written. Social Security Numbers are masked to the last four digits, so a full number is never sitting on screen in a shared office. Start the fill. A counter tracks fields as they land, section by section, and each filled field is highlighted on the page. When it finishes you get three numbers — filled, skipped and failed — along with the list of sections that were written. Undo Fill reverses a run you didn't want. Then save in your tax software. That part matters: your tax software does not save on its own, and a filled form you navigate away from is a filled form you lose. The panel reminds you. WHAT GETS FILLED Taxpayer and spouse identity, dependents, contact details and address, filing status and prior-year information, W-2 and 1099 income, self-employment and rental income, investments, education expenses, itemized and above-the-line deductions, tax credits, banking details for direct deposit, estimated payments, and healthcare coverage. You choose which sections to fill on each run. Support is in beta. Mappings for those four have not yet been confirmed against the running product, so some fields may not fill, and the panel warns you before you spend anything. The extension runs only on those sites. Anywhere else it checks the hostname, finds no match, and stops. GoRefer is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any tax software vendor; product names appear here only to say where the extension works. WHAT YOU NEED A GoRefer account with an active subscription and the AutoFill add-on. This is a companion to the GoRefer platform, not a standalone tool, and it will not work without an account. Autofill uses GoRefer credits: 35 per client, with three free fills a month. You are charged once per client, re-running a fill on that client costs nothing more, and a run that fills no fields is not charged at all. We would rather say this here than have you find out after installing. PRIVACY AND SECURITY This extension handles Social Security Numbers, dates of birth and bank account numbers, and is built accordingly. It communicates with exactly one server: GoRefer's own API. Its Content Security Policy restricts outbound connections to that single origin, so the browser itself enforces the rule. There is no analytics SDK, no telemetry, no crash reporter, no advertising network, and no third-party script of any kind. The content script writes into form fields. It does not read your tax software's pages, scrape them, or transmit page data anywhere. It reads your active tab's hostname to work out which software you are on, and never touches your browsing history. Decrypted client data is never written to disk. The fill history records which sections ran and how many fields were written, never the values. Sessions end when you close the browser. The extension finds fields by CSS selector, and vendors redesign their forms without notice; when they do, some fields stop matching. Review the return before you file it. This is a typing assistant, not a substitute for your professional review. On one supported platform, masked Social Security Number inputs cannot be written by any script without corrupting the form's internal state. The extension skips those and shows you the value to type instead. Desktop tax applications are not supported. A browser extension cannot reach a Windows desktop program, so if your software is not a web application, this extension cannot help you.
