Google Photos ZIP Exporter & Takeout Fixer is a lightweight Chrome Extension designed to seamlessly export selected photos from your Google Photos library into a ZIP archive, while preserving the original creation timestamps for every file. The extension now features two powerful tools to manage and secure your memories: Google Photos Cloud Exporter: Select photos directly from your Google Photos account using Google’s official Picker API and export them as a ZIP archive with preserved creation timestamps and high-resolution downloads. Google Takeout Fixer: Fix and merge unstructured local Google Takeout folders. It automatically matches media files with their corresponding .json metadata, corrects creation timestamps and EXIF tags, and packages everything into a clean, ready-to-download ZIP archive. Key Features: Preserves Original Timestamps: Automatically extracts the creation date and time (creationTime) and writes it directly into the file metadata (including EXIF injection for JPEGs), ensuring your unzipped files maintain their original order and date on your computer. Full-Resolution Downloads: Bypasses compressed preview images by fetching high-resolution original photos (baseUrl=d). Google Photos Picker Integration: Uses Google’s official Picker API, allowing you to securely select exactly which photos you want to export directly within a native Google selection interface. Smart Local Takeout Processing: Intelligently matches messy Google Takeout folders, handling edited photos, live photos, and complex suffixes automatically. Privacy & Security Focused: All authentication and image processing happen locally inside your browser via Google OAuth2. No images or personal data are ever uploaded, stored, or processed on external servers. How to use: For Cloud Export: Click the extension icon to open the dashboard. Select photos in the opened Google Photos window via the official Picker. Wait for the extension to process and bundle your files into a ZIP archive. For Takeout Fixing: Choose your local Google Takeout input folder. Click "Merge Metadata" to process, fix EXIF tags, and generate your clean ZIP archive.
