Google Messages Export lets you select parts of a conversation in Google Messages for web and turn them into a cleaner record you can print, save as a PDF, export as CSV, or use to save conversation images. It is meant for situations where screenshots or copy/paste are inconvenient, such as court cases, custody or divorce records, landlord/tenant disputes, business documentation, personal archives, or simply keeping an important conversation. You choose which messages are included and how the final transcript looks. WHAT YOU CAN DO Select the messages you actually need - Select individual messages manually. - Use Auto-select to collect messages within a date range. - Use quick date options for Today, This Month, Last Month, or This Year. - Review the selection before exporting and remove anything you do not want included. Print or save conversations as PDF - Keep messages in a readable conversation-style layout. - Preserve timestamps, message bubbles, avatars, images, replies, reactions, and other supported message details. - Multi-page messages are numbered so they are easier to follow. Export conversations as CSV - Export timestamp, sender, and message content. - Split date and time if needed. - Include a header row. - Notes added with the annotation feature can also be included in the CSV. Export conversation images - View the images from the selected conversation in a separate image gallery. - Choose exactly which images you want. - Select all or deselect all. - Save one image directly or save multiple images together in a ZIP. - Your image selections are remembered if you close and reopen the image window. - With premium Labels enabled, images can also be filtered by sender. Adjust the transcript Free layout options include: - Reverse message order - Header text - Optional message statistics in the header - Page numbers - Redaction of specific words, names, numbers, or other text - Content width - Text size - Image size The preview updates as you work so you can see what the printed document will look like. PREMIUM OPTIONS Premium customization is available for $3. Premium options include: Dates and times - Show or hide message date/time information. Avatars - Show or hide participant profile images. - The extension can also include the signed-in user's Google account avatar for outgoing messages. Images - Show, hide, or replace media in the printed transcript. Colors - Control whether message bubble colors are preserved. Labels - Assign names to conversation participants. - Labels are applied consistently throughout the transcript. - Participant avatars and labels can also be used to filter images in the image-export tool. Guidelines - Add visual guides that make long or crowded conversations easier to follow. Date separators - Insert clear date headings between groups of messages. Highlight - Highlight up to several important words or phrases throughout the transcript. Annotations - Add a border around an important message. - Attach notes to specific messages. - Drag notes anywhere on the page while keeping a visual connector to the original message. - Annotation notes can also appear alongside the corresponding message in CSV exports. Saved Sessions - Automatically save recent export sessions. - Reopen a previous selection with its layout settings, labels, annotations, image selections, and other customizations restored. - Up to five recent sessions are kept. - Auto-save can be turned on or off. Business and professional records - Save client conversations, contractor discussions, agreements, scheduling information, workplace communications, or other messages that may need to be referenced later. Personal archives - Keep important conversations, family messages, sentimental exchanges, or other texts you would rather preserve outside of Google Messages. Printing and record keeping - Turn a long conversation into a document that is easier to read than a collection of screenshots. Saving conversation photos - Collect photos and other supported images from a conversation without having to save them one at a time from the message thread. HOW IT WORKS - Open Google Messages for web in Chrome. - Open the conversation you want to work with. - Use Google Messages Export to select the messages you want. - Review and customize the preview. - Print/save as PDF, export as CSV, or export conversation images. The extension works with the messages you explicitly select for an export.
