Adds Google Maps links to Uber Eats stores, with optional ratings and review counts.

Google Maps on Uber Eats makes it easier to check restaurant and store information while browsing Uber Eats. The extension adds a “View ratings on Google Maps” button to supported restaurant and store listings on the Uber Eats website. Select the button to open a Google Maps search for that store in a new tab—without manually copying the store name or searching for it yourself. WHY INSTALL IT? - Open Google Maps directly from Uber Eats store cards and store detail pages. - Check Google Maps information before deciding where to order. - Save time when comparing multiple restaurants or stores. - Reduce the need to copy store names and perform separate searches. - Optionally display Google Maps ratings and review counts directly on Uber Eats. NO API KEY REQUIRED FOR THE BASIC FEATURE The core Google Maps link feature works without an API key. The extension creates a standard Google Maps search link using the store name and, when available, location information such as the store address, selected country, and delivery area hint. In link-only mode, the extension does not automatically call the Google Places API. OPTIONAL RATINGS AND REVIEW COUNTS If you have your own Google Places API key, you can optionally display a store’s Google Maps rating and review count, for example: Google Maps ★ 4.3 (128) This feature is completely optional. Entering an API key does not automatically enable API requests. You must also enable the “Show ratings and review counts” option. You can keep your API key saved while turning this option off. When it is off, the extension uses only Google Maps links and does not automatically call the Places API while you browse Uber Eats. Google Places API usage may incur charges to your own Google Cloud account. The settings page lets you limit the maximum number of rating lookups performed per page. SEARCH AND MATCHING OPTIONS To improve store matching, you can: - Select a country or region. - Add an optional delivery area hint, such as a city or district. - Enable strict matching to reject candidates whose names are not sufficiently similar. - Clear saved store-to-Place ID mappings at any time. When a confident match cannot be found, the extension falls back to the standard Google Maps search link instead of displaying an uncertain rating. PRIVACY AND DATA HANDLING - Your API key and extension settings are stored locally in chrome.storage.local on your device. - The extension does not include a shared API key. - The extension does not send data to a server operated by the extension developer. - In link-only mode, no automatic Google Places API request is made. - When ratings and review counts are enabled, the store name and available address or area hints are sent directly from your browser to the Google Places API. - Ratings and review counts returned by Google are not stored permanently by the extension. - Only the matched Google Place ID may be saved locally to reduce repeated store searches. ADDITIONAL FEATURES - English and Japanese interface. - Works with supported Uber Eats store listing and detail pages. - Opens Google Maps in a new tab. - Automatically falls back to a Google Maps search link if the API key is missing, disabled, invalid, unavailable, or over the configured lookup limit.
