GoodbyeDPI for Chrome
Overview
Route only Chrome's traffic through a local DPI-bypass proxy (ByeDPI) to defeat censorship. One toggle to turn it on and off.
GoodbyeDPI for Chrome — turn censorship bypass on and off with a single toggle, for THIS browser only. Many networks use Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) to detect and block websites by looking inside your connections. GoodbyeDPI for Chrome defeats that by routing Chrome's traffic through a small local proxy that reshapes packets so DPI systems can no longer match them — all with one click, and only for Chrome. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHY IT'S DIFFERENT ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • Chrome only. When you turn it ON, only this browser is affected. Other apps, other browsers, and even your other Chrome profiles keep connecting normally. • One toggle. No terminal, no manual proxy setup, no fiddling — flip the switch in the popup. • It stays out of your way. If the local proxy isn't running, the toggle safely snaps back OFF so your internet never breaks. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ HOW IT WORKS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 1. Toggle ON — the extension points Chrome at a local proxy running on your own PC (127.0.0.1). Nothing leaves your machine except your normal web traffic to the sites you visit. 2. DPI bypass — the local proxy (ByeDPI / ciadpi) applies desync techniques such as TLS record splitting, packet reordering, and fake packets that many DPI systems fail to inspect. 3. Chrome only — because just Chrome is pointed at the proxy, everything else on your computer is untouched. A browser extension cannot manipulate TCP/TLS packets by itself, so the actual bypass runs in a small local helper app that the extension starts and stops for you. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ SETUP (ONE TIME) ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • Windows: download and run the free companion installer, then reopen Chrome and toggle ON. • macOS / Linux: paste one line into the Terminal (shown in the popup), then reopen Chrome and toggle ON. The companion app is open source and installs the local proxy the extension controls. After that, it's just the toggle — the setup survives reboots and never needs to be repeated. It does not hide your IP like a VPN — it defeats DPI-based blocking. Please follow the laws and policies that apply where you use it.
