Doomscrolling wears you down before you even notice it happening. Good News Only quietly blurs or hides the heaviest headlines — death, violence, war, disasters — as you browse, so your feed doesn't ambush you with something you weren't ready to see. It works on any site, including feeds that keep loading as you scroll. Pick a preset — Light for just the heaviest stuff, Balanced for most bad news, or Zen for anything negative — or turn individual categories on and off yourself. Decide whether matched stories blur (click to reveal) or disappear completely, and if you're blurring, choose frosted glass, a solid color, or a pixelated mosaic, with the intensity set however you like. A running count shows how much you've skipped today, this week, and since you installed, plus a daily streak if you keep it on. If a word like "shooting" ends up hiding sports headlines instead of tragedies, tap it once to allow it — no digging through settings. You can also pause filtering on a site entirely, or add your own words to catch things the built-in categories miss. Everything runs locally in your browser. There's no account, no server, no analytics — your settings sync only through your own Chrome profile, and nothing about what you read ever leaves your device. Filtering turns itself off on search engines and video sites, where it isn't useful anyway. One shortcut, Alt+Shift+G, turns the whole thing on or off.
