Overview

A modern, fast and efficient alternate UI for GoCD. Your whole pipeline fleet in one tab, straight from the GoCD API.

GoCD Lens is a modern, fast and efficient alternate UI for GoCD. It reads your GoCD server's REST API and draws its own dashboard in the browser, built for instances with thousands of pipelines. WHAT IT DOES • The pipeline list — every group and pipeline you can see, loaded in one request and cached to disk, so the tab paints instantly and stays readable when the network is gone. Colour-coded cards with a per-stage strip show you where a run broke without clicking into it. • Fuzzy search — type "wabp" to find "web-app-build-prod", with the matched letters highlighted. • Your GoCD personalized views, the same tabs as the web dashboard, plus Starred and Watching. • One pipeline — full run history, each run's stages and jobs, manual-approval gates marked, and what the run was built from: repo, branch, commit, author and message, one click to the commit. • Act on things — run, pause, resume, stop a running stage, and re-run chosen jobs. A stage of a dozen parallel end-to-end jobs is normal, and re-running all of them to retry one flaky job wastes agents, so the re-run button lists the jobs with the failed ones already ticked. • Console logs — live tailing while the job runs, fetching only the new lines, with search, severity colouring, wrapping, download, and the artifact tree. • Watch a pipeline and be told when a run starts and finishes — whether it passed and, if not, which stage went red — with an optional short chime. • A toolbar badge that counts what is running, and turns red with a failure count when nothing is. BUILT FOR A BIG INSTANCE This was written against a GoCD server with thousands of pipelines. Nothing it does costs a request per pipeline: one endpoint does nearly all the work, unchanged data costs an empty 304, a hidden tab does not poll at all, extra tabs share one cache, and watching a pipeline adds no requests at all. PRIVACY • Everything stays on your machine, in this browser profile. chrome.storage.sync — which would upload to your Google account — is never used anywhere. • No site access up front. The extension ships with an empty host_permissions list and asks for one origin, at the moment you press Connect. • No content scripts. It cannot read, see or touch any page you browse. • Your GoCD server is the only host it ever contacts. No analytics, no third parties, no remote code of any kind. • Three ways to sign in, starting with the session you already have in this browser, which stores nothing at all. Requires Chrome 116 or later. Works in Edge and Brave too. Not affiliated with the GoCD project or ThoughtWorks.
