LangTrack: auto-track your immersion

Counts the minutes you watch YouTube in the languages you're learning (language, subtitles and all) and logs them to LangTrack.

Watch YouTube in the language you're learning. LangTrack counts it. LangTrack for Chrome adds your YouTube immersion to your LangTrack log by itself. Connect your LangTrack account once, press play, and that's it: no timers, no typing, nothing to remember. WHAT IT DOES • Works out the language of each video on its own: from YouTube's audio track and auto-captions, the channel, and the title. Spanish news, a Japanese vlog, a French podcast, a learner video with an English title: it gets them right. • Counts real minutes: only while the video plays and you're there. Ads, pauses, muted tabs and a video left running overnight don't count. • One entry per language per day in LangTrack ("YouTube · 6 videos, 47 min"), growing as you watch. Your rings, goals and streak update by themselves. • Notes whether subtitles were on, and in which language. • Works with LangTrack's timer: if your timer is already running in that language, the video isn't counted twice. • Shows a small flag on the video while it counts (hover to see it; turn it off in settings). • Focus mode (optional): when a video isn't in a language you learn, a gentle nudge, or a pause, with a link to videos in your language. • Shorts, live streams, playlists, the miniplayer, YouTube Music (as listening) and YouTube videos embedded on other sites. • Undo from the popup; edit or delete anything in LangTrack. PRIVATE BY DESIGN LangTrack gets the language, the minutes, the day, whether subtitles were on, and how many videos. Never which videos: titles, channels and links stay in your browser. Nothing about other websites. Usage stats (which buttons get used, errors) help us fix things; turn them off in settings. RELIABLE Built not to need reinstalling: it keeps counting through Chrome updates, restarts, a lost connection and sleep, and catches up by itself. You stay signed in.
