Overview

Automatically highlight your saved keywords and phrases on any webpage, with custom colors and readable contrast. Data stays local.

Type your keywords once. Names, ticket IDs, product terms, whatever you scan for all day. From then on they light up on every page you open, in colors you can actually read. No account. No subscription, ever: the free plan is free forever, and Pro is a single $7 payment. Your lists back up automatically on your own device and export to a file in one click, so they are never trapped here. WHY THIS ONE Most highlighters paint a yellow box and stop there. On a dark site like Slack, yellow behind light text is unreadable. Highlight Keywords picks black or white text automatically for every color, so matches stay clear on any page theme. And it colors your words without changing the page underneath, so it stays smooth inside busy web apps like Slack, Gmail, and Notion instead of tripping them up. It also works in your language. Chinese, Japanese, and Thai words match inside normal sentences. Arabic matches with or without vowel marks. Turkish's two i's, German's ss and accented text all match properly. The interface itself comes in 52 languages, with a picker in Settings. WHAT IT DOES - Highlights your saved words automatically as pages load, including infinite scroll and chat apps, starting the moment you install it - Works in every language and script, and matches words even when the page splits them with formatting, invisible hyphens, or non-breaking spaces - Color-coded lists with icons and looks: solid fill, highlighter, underline, colored text, or dim (fade the noise instead of highlighting it) - Counts everywhere: a badge on the toolbar icon, per-list counts in the popup, colored markers along the page edge, and an on-page overview panel - Desktop alerts: any list can notify you the moment it matches a page, with an optional chime (Pro) - Click a highlighted word to copy it, with a small spark so you know it worked - Highlight inside PDFs with the built-in PDF viewer (Pro) - Insights: a private, on-device match history by day, site, and list (Pro) - Share any list as a link or file; adding it takes one click - Whole-word matching by default, regex support with a visual builder, and fuzzy matching that forgives one typo per word (Pro) - Paste a whole roster: duplicates are removed and shown to you - Select text and press Alt+A to add it to a list, or right-click and pick the list. Either way the page tells you what happened - Site rules: disable on chosen sites, or highlight only where you want - Remote lists from Google Sheets, Pastebin, plain URLs, Notion, or Airtable (Pro) - Keyboard shortcuts to add a word, jump between matches, and turn highlighting on or off. All of them can be changed - Light and dark mode, following your system automatically - Your data is never trapped: automatic daily backups on your device, one-click export and import, an optional daily backup file saved to your Downloads folder, and sync across your computers through your browser's own sync (Pro) - Deleting a list is not final: it moves to a trash for 30 days and comes back with one click, exactly as it was. Free for everyone. Removed site rules get the same 30 days - Copying text from a page stays clean. Highlights are painted over the page without editing it, so paste never picks up stray markup PRICING Free: 2 lists, 200 words each, everything else included, forever. Lifetime Pro: one payment, no subscription. Unlimited lists and words, sync, fuzzy matching, desktop alerts with an optional sound, remote lists, and every future Pro feature. Try Pro free for 14 days inside the extension: no card, and when the trial ends the free plan keeps working with everything you made intact. PRIVACY Chrome will warn that this extension can "read and change all your data on all websites". Every highlighter needs that permission, because finding your words on a page means reading the page first. All of it happens on your computer. Your lists stay in your browser. No account, no tracking, no ads, and it never changes the links on a page. The only network requests are ones you ask for: loading a remote list you configured, or verifying a license key you bought.
