Make every lookup count. Words you look up get highlighted when they come back, with a quick daily review in context.
Make every lookup count. Words you look up get highlighted when they come back, with a quick daily review in context. Select a word while you read English on the web, watch YouTube or read a PDF, and see what it means in that sentence. The word and its sentence go into your word book. LOOK UP • Select a word and click the small button beside it: pronunciation, part of speech and the meaning in this sentence. Select a sentence or paragraph to translate it. • Hear the word read aloud. Shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+T (Command+Shift+T on a Mac). MEET IT AGAIN • Words you looked up are highlighted on other pages, in YouTube captions and in PDFs. Hover for the meaning and where you looked it up. • Word forms count: look up "address", and "addressed" lights up too. REVIEW IN YOUR OWN SENTENCES • A few words a day, each blanked out of the sentence where you found it. Answer Remembered, Fuzzy or Forgot. • Reviews come after 1, 3, 7, 15, 30 and 90 days. Meeting a word while reading counts too. • "Back to this moment" jumps to the second of the video where you heard it; "Back to this page" opens the PDF page. YOUTUBE • On videos with CC captions: bilingual subtitles, or original only with a Translate button on each line. Click any word in the subtitles. PDF • Open online and local PDFs in the Echo reader and look up words as on a web page. Files are never uploaded. IMPORT • Bring in words from Kindle (vocab.db), Eudic or a CSV file. They are highlighted and reviewed like the rest. PROGRESS • See new words, words met again and words that moved up, today and this week, plus a monthly report image you can save or share. FREE AND PRO Free, no sign-up: 10 reviews a day from your 50 most recent words; 500 lookups and 20 sentence translations a day; your 50 most recent words shown and highlighted (older ones stay saved). Subtitle translation is not counted; import from Kindle, Eudic and CSV, export to CSV and Anki files. Pro, US$4.99 a month or US$35.99 a year (about US$3.00 a month): • 30 reviews a day, more if you want, from all your words • Every word shown and highlighted • Unlimited lookups and sentence translations (fair use) • Audio review on echo-translate.com, on your phone too • Word book and review progress synced across computers • Send to Anki in one click Or the Pro 1-Year Pass: US$35.99 once, no renewal. PRIVACY A lookup sends the word and its sentence, not the page address. PDFs are never uploaded. Free word books stay in your browser; Pro word books sync to our server.
