Overview

Silently and instantly block any website or web address — whole domains or single pages. Private, lightweight, free.

URL Blocker keeps a personal list of sites you never want to load — and blocks them the instant they try to appear. Add a whole domain like "example.com" to block it everywhere (every subdomain and page), or a specific address like "example.com/feed" to block just one part of a site. Blocking is silent and instant: the page simply never loads, with no redirect, flicker, or slowdown. It works on more than just the address bar. URL Blocker also stops blocked scripts, trackers, frames, images and other components that are embedded inside the pages you visit, and prevents pop-up tabs and windows from opening to blocked addresses. WHY YOU'LL LIKE IT • Instant & silent — blocked addresses never load. • Whole domains or single pages — your choice, line by line. • Blocks page components too — scripts, trackers, frames, images, fonts, media. • Stops pop-ups — new tabs/windows to blocked sites are prevented (and can be closed automatically). • Pause anytime — one switch turns blocking on or off. • Wildcards & comments — "*.doubleclick.net", "site.com/*/ads", and "#" notes. • Import & export — back up or move your list as a plain text file. • Light & dark themes, full keyboard support. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your list never leaves your device. There are no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. URL Blocker makes no network requests of its own. THE SMALLEST POSSIBLE FOOTPRINT URL Blocker is built on Chrome's native rules engine, so matching happens inside the browser for effectively zero performance impact. It asks for only two permissions — the ability to block your listed addresses, and local storage for your list. It requests NO access to the content of the pages you browse. A "tabs" permission is requested only if you choose to enable automatic closing of blocked pop-up tabs, and can be revoked at any time. Made with care by Speednet Group.
