Gmail Thread Extractor
Overview
Extract a Gmail conversation as clean Markdown
Gmail Thread Extractor turns any open Gmail conversation into clean, well-structured Markdown — automatically copied to your clipboard and saved as a .md file. It does one thing well: getting an entire email thread out of Gmail and into your AI assistant, notes, or docs in seconds. WHAT IT DOES • Adds an "Extract" button to any open Gmail conversation • Captures the ENTIRE thread — including collapsed and hidden messages — not just the message on screen • Converts every message to clean Markdown: sender, email, date, recipients, and body • Strips quoted reply history, signatures, and footer/tracking noise • Copies the result to your clipboard AND downloads a .md file named after the subject WHY YOU'LL WANT IT • Paste a whole email thread into ChatGPT, Claude, or any AI agent in one click — no manual copy-paste of each message • Archive important conversations as portable, future-proof Markdown • Drop email context into Obsidian, Notion, Jira, or a doc HOW TO USE IT Open a Gmail conversation and click the floating "Extract" button, or click the toolbar icon and choose "Extract current thread." The Markdown is instantly on your clipboard and in your Downloads folder. PRIVACY • Runs entirely in your browser — no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no tracking. • Reads only the Gmail conversation you choose to extract, and only when you click Extract. • Requests the minimum permissions needed (one setting in storage, and clipboard access to copy).
