Your inbox, on command. Gmail Shortcuts turns Gmail into a keyboard-first inbox. Press Cmd+K on Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux to open a fast command bar. Search any view, category, or label. Run contextual actions on the message in front of you. The items you use most rise to the top automatically. FIND ANYTHING, FAST 🔎 • Search every Gmail view, category, and label, including nested labels • Use fuzzy search. Type a few letters and jump straight to the result • Press Tab or Shift+Tab inside the command bar to filter between views, actions, and labels • Open the command bar without typing to see your frequently used items first FLY THROUGH YOUR INBOX ⚡ • Move through messages with Arrow Up/Down, then press Enter to open • Hold Shift+Arrow Up/Down to sweep-select multiple messages • Press x to toggle the message under the cursor • Use Tab or Shift+Tab to cycle Primary, Promotions, Social, Updates, and Forums • Use Cmd/Ctrl+Arrow Up/Down to jump to the first or last message • Use Cmd/Ctrl+Arrow Left/Right to page to newer or older messages TRIAGE WITHOUT THE MOUSE 📥 • Press E to archive or # to delete • Press B to snooze with natural language, such as “tomorrow 9am” • Press L to open Gmail’s label menu • Use Shift+I and Shift+U to mark messages read or unread • Use Cmd/Ctrl+Z to undo while Gmail’s undo message is visible • Use Cmd/Ctrl+O to open a searchable list of links from the current email • Open the command bar while viewing a message for contextual actions such as Reply, Forward, Star, Spam, Snooze, and Unsubscribe when available HELP IS BUILT IN Open the command bar and choose “Help / View Shortcuts” to see the complete guide without leaving Gmail. PRIVATE BY DESIGN 🔒 The extension sends no data anywhere. • No separate account • No analytics • No remote servers • No network requests from the extension The extension stores only a small local history of the command bar items you choose, so frequently used items can move to the top, and whether it has shown the shortcut guide after installation. This information stays in Gmail’s local site data and is kept separate for each Gmail account. Clearing that site data removes it. ONE-TIME SETUP Gmail’s own keyboard shortcuts must be on.
