It does one thing: tells you when you have new mail. And it does it to two extreme standards. — Flagship #1: Near-zero memory — Typical mail-checker extensions keep 50–100 MB resident at all times — a steep price for one unread number. Gmail Mini Checker uses the Manifest V3 event-driven architecture to push memory to its theoretical floor: • The service worker fully unloads when idle — resident memory is near 0 MB; you won't even find its process in the browser task manager • It wakes only for the 1–2 seconds of each periodic check, then releases everything • The popup renders instantly from a local cache and frees itself the moment you close it • Even the chimes are synthesized live with Web Audio — no audio files are bundled at all; the whole extension is under 50 KB — Flagship #2: Privacy first — your data never leaves your device — Your inbox holds bills, contracts, private conversations.
