Overview

Gmail Message ID shows the identifiers of the email you currently have open in Gmail so you can copy them into tickets, logs, APIs, or support tools. When you open a conversation on mail.google.com, each expanded message gets a compact header row with: - Thread-ID from the Gmail URL - Message-ID (API / legacy) from Gmail's data-legacy-message-id - Message-ID (DOM) from Gmail's data-message-id If a thread contains several messages, each expanded message shows its own IDs. One click copies a single ID, all IDs, or a JSON object. The ID row appears below the sender and recipient details, follows Gmail’s text color, and disappears when the message is collapsed. The extension does not send data to a server, does not require a sign-in, and does not modify the email. This extension does not show the RFC-822 Message-ID: header. For that value use Gmail: More → Show original. Single purpose: display and copy Gmail thread and message IDs for the open conversation.
