Gmail Message Locator adds a small ID button to Gmail. Click the button to copy a stable locator for the selected email or open thread. Use it when you need to find or reference a Gmail message ID, Gmail thread ID, RFC Message-ID, rfc822msgid, or Message-ID header for an exact email. The copied locator gives AI assistants, support teams, CRM notes, legal review, diligence records, and source ledgers a stable handle back to the original Gmail source. Use the copied locator in AI prompts, support notes, CRM updates, diligence records, legal review, and internal source ledgers. Use with AI assistants: Paste the copied locator into Codex, Claude, ChatGPT, or another assistant with a short instruction such as: "Use this Gmail locator to find the exact email or thread, extract only the evidence needed for my task, and keep the original locator attached to every claim. Do not modify, send, archive, label, or delete email unless I explicitly ask." For exact email lookups, use rfc822msgid: or gmail-message-id:. For full conversation context, use gmail-thread-id:.
