Gmail Assistant Gmail Assistant is a Chrome extension for Gmail that helps users understand emails faster and prepare replies with Ollama Cloud. With Gmail Assistant, you can summarize long emails, see the message category, get suggested reply ideas, generate a full draft reply, or write your own rough reply and let Ollama Cloud polish it for you. The extension is designed for everyday users, not just technical users. Setup is simple: add your Ollama Cloud API key, choose your model, and start using the assistant directly in Gmail through the popup or side panel. Open Gmail Assistant from the Chrome extension icon or side panel. Complete Setup with your Ollama Cloud API key and model. Choose what you want to do: summarize the email, show the category, suggest reply ideas, draft a reply, or write your own reply and polish it. Review the result before sending. Copy the text or insert the reply into Gmail. Requirements A Gmail account opened in Chrome An Ollama Cloud account Your own Ollama Cloud API key Privacy Gmail Assistant is built to be clear about how your data is used. Email content is sent to Ollama Cloud only when you choose an AI action and allow the privacy confirmation. The extension does not permanently store email content after the request is completed. Your Ollama API key, selected model, and optional reply details are stored in Chrome storage so the extension can work for you across sessions. Your optional reply details can include your name, email, phone, website, and location for use in reply drafts. Users should always review AI-generated results before sending, especially names, dates, prices, links, and commitments. Permissions Used Gmail Assistant uses only the permissions needed for its Gmail and Ollama Cloud workflow. Storage saves your Ollama API key, selected model, UI mode, and optional reply details. ActiveTab lets the extension work with the Gmail tab you are currently using. Scripting supports interaction with the current Gmail page when reading email content and inserting replies. SidePanel enables the side panel version of the extension. The permission https://mail.google.com/* allows the extension to read the currently opened Gmail message and insert replies into Gmail when you ask it to. The permission https://ollama.com/* allows the extension to send requests to Ollama Cloud using your API key. Single Purpose Gmail Assistant has one main purpose: help users read and reply to Gmail messages with Ollama Cloud. Notes for Store Listing This extension is for Gmail only. This extension uses Ollama Cloud only. Users must provide their own Ollama Cloud API key. No Gmail OAuth client setup is required.
