Gloss — Your web, annotated & shared.
Overview
Your personal knowledge layer for the internet. Highlight, note, and draw on any page — then share your screen live.
Gloss is a personal knowledge layer for the internet. Highlight passages, attach sticky notes, drop bookmarks, and draw shapes directly on any webpage, then come back later and pick up exactly where you left off. Unlike a folder of bookmarks, Gloss anchors every annotation to the actual content on the page. Highlights stay glued to the text they mark, notes stay pinned where you wrote them, and everything is saved automatically. Annotate any page - Highlight text in any color and add comments - Sticky notes, text boxes, and bookmarks - Emoji and icon stickers for visual organization - Draw rectangles, circles, arrows, lines, and freehand - Paste images onto pages and capture screenshots to your clipboard Share your screen live - Serverless WebRTC screen sharing — no accounts, no servers, no uploads - Exchange a copy-paste connection key for a direct, encrypted peer-to-peer link - Share your screen as the host, or watch live in a dedicated viewer tab - The stream goes straight between the two of you and never touches a server Review and organize from your dashboard - Every page you have annotated, browsable and searchable - Full-text search across quotes, notes, and comments - Collections and tags to organize your library - Favorites, timeline, and activity insights - Trash with restore for accidental deletes Export and own your data - Plain JSON backups (free) - Portable ZIP archives and CSV spreadsheets (Pro) - Everything stored locally on your device, no account required Fast to use - One click to start annotating on any page - Keyboard shortcuts: Alt+Shift+A toggle mode, Alt+Shift+N quick note, Alt+Shift+D open dashboard - Right-click any page or selection for quick actions - Light and dark themes with adjustable annotation opacity Privacy Your annotations are stored locally on your device. Gloss does not track you and never sells your data. The only network requests are for bookmark icons and, if you choose to upgrade, license activation through Freemius. Live screen sharing connects you directly to the viewer (peer-to-peer) — your screen never passes through a server, and capture only starts when you confirm the browser's screen picker. Upgrade to Pro Get unlimited pages and annotations, image and icon annotations, collections, ZIP and CSV exports, and detailed insights reports. The free plan includes up to 20 pages and 200 annotations.
