)Overview
Hide watched YouTube™ videos and discover fresh content.
FreshView for YouTube™ hides watched and older video cards so you can discover fresh content faster. It uses the watch-progress bars and relative publication periods YouTube already displays and keeps your preferences on your device. MAKE YOUR FEED YOUR OWN • Choose the minimum watched percentage (90% by default). • Independently hide older videos by seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months or years. • A 2 y age threshold keeps 2 y and hides 3 y or more; equal periods and unknown ages remain visible. • Control filtering on Home, Subscriptions, You/Library, History, Channels and Explore. • Separate controls for recommendations, search results and individual videos in playlists. • Save a watched-hiding on/off preference for an exact page with page locks. A CLEARER INTERFACE, IN YOUR LANGUAGE • Redesigned popup and responsive settings. • System, Light and Dark appearance modes. • Automatically follows the browser interface language: English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. English is the fallback. • Keyboard-friendly controls, visible focus and reduced-motion support. GET STARTED Open desktop YouTube, open FreshView and enable Hide watched videos or Hide older videos. Both filters are off by default; History is excluded by default. Watched hiding needs a usable progress bar. Age hiding needs a recognized past-age label in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese or Chinese. Periods are ordered buckets, not converted calendar durations: any year label outranks a month threshold. Shorts, advertisements and playlist summary cards are not filtered. Page/type exclusions apply to both filters; page locks control watched hiding. WHAT'S NEW IN 3.3.0 Adds the independent older-video filter with an amount (1–100) and seven period choices in the popup and Settings. Reads each card's displayed period directly, without opening videos or downloading metadata. Unknown ages stay visible. Fixes horizontal scrolling in the Firefox popup. Incremental processing restores cards as YouTube updates and reuses them. Existing preferences and permissions are preserved. PRIVACY AND PERMISSIONS Preferences and page locks stay in local browser storage. FreshView does not retrieve your account history, collect telemetry or send browsing data to a server. Storage saves your preferences; access to HTTPS youtube.com and www.youtube.com enables filtering and page-specific controls. All extension scripts and fonts are packaged locally. For desktop YouTube only; not YouTube Music, Studio, mobile pages or embedded players. Maintained fork of the original FreshView project. Open source under GNU GPL v3.0.
