Sitemap Path Explorer turns a website's sitemap into a searchable link tree in Chrome's Side Panel. PAID EXTENSION The extension is free to install, but it needs a one-time license key ($12) to unlock. The license is sold by the developer, Arnav Garg, on Gumroad, not by the Chrome Web Store. WHAT IT READS To find the right sitemap, the extension reads the address of the site in your active tab, then requests that site's robots.txt and sitemap files. There is no server, no analytics and no tracking. It contacts only the site you're viewing (including sitemap locations that site lists) and Gumroad (to verify your license key). Buy a license (one-time payment): https://arnavgarg.gumroad.com/l/sitemap-explorer 3. Open the side panel, paste your key, and click Activate Extension. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Search by page name. Type part of a name (not case-sensitive). With several words, a page must match all of them. Matches are highlighted, and you can jump between them. • Browse the tree. Open a folder with the arrow beside it, and click a page name to open it in a new tab. • Pin a site. Keep one site's tree loaded while you browse other tabs. • Keep the tree honest. If a link you open from the tree returns a 404 or 410, the link is removed and its tab closes automatically. A 401 or 403 flags the link as needing a login. • See what a site asks crawlers to avoid. Pages disallowed by the site's robots.txt, plus a short built-in list of admin and system paths, appear greyed out and can't be clicked. GOOD TO KNOW • It works on sites that publish a sitemap (in robots.txt or at /sitemap.xml). Sites without one show a "No sitemap.xml found" message. Search matches page names taken from URLs, not page content. • Sitemap indexes (sitemaps that list other sitemaps) are supported, with limits on very large sitemaps. • Limits: it reads up to about 250,000 URLs per site (50 MB per sitemap file, 60 seconds per load) and displays up to 50,000 nodes. Very large sites can go past these limits, and then no tree is built. • Text (.txt) and compressed (.gz) sitemaps aren't supported yet. • It doesn't run on chrome:// pages, local files, extension pages, or major search engines. • It requires desktop Google Chrome 114 or newer.
