Unofficial helper for Musixmatch curators: editing shortcuts, AI transcription, review, lyrics comparison and quality reports.

MxM Tools adds the small things that a lyrics curator repeats a hundred times a day to the Musixmatch Studio task editor: floating buttons, keyboard shortcuts, a lyrics diff, and AI help that runs on a Google Gemini key you create yourself. This is an independent, unofficial tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced by Musixmatch. WHAT IT ADDS • 23 floating buttons on the task page, each with its own on/off switch. Twelve of them fold into three clusters — AI tools, Typeforms and streaming — and every one of them can be dragged into the order you work in. • Editing shortcuts you assign yourself: join and split lines, wrap a selection in brackets, question marks or exclamation marks, count words, tag an instrumental. Click the key, press the combination you want. • A lyrics diff between the original and your edit, through Diffchecker or a built-in view. • Three Musixmatch Typeforms — the quality report, the lyrics corrections form and the Slack invitation — filled in for you. None is ever submitted without you: each opens a review panel first, and each stops at the form's own Submit button by default. • Housekeeping when a task opens: close the Assistant panel, check the contributor, click "Continue" after sending, mark songs you have already opened. On the mission list, a right-click on a song card opens the extension's own ⋯ menu instead of the browser's; it can be switched off. • If you reach your tasks through the third-party launcher some curators use, one switch in the options makes it forget the name and email it stored about you, so they stop being attached to the forms above. It asks for permission the moment you press it, and it can be declined without losing anything else. • Quick links: the song on the Musixmatch catalog, the contributor's profile, a Google search, and the song on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music or Amazon Music. THE AI PART, AND WHAT IT COSTS Transcription from audio, a review pass over the open lyrics, translation line by line, and a drafted message to the contributor all call Google's Gemini API directly from your browser, using an API key you create in your own Google account. The extension has no key of its own and no server of its own; there is nothing to subscribe to. A first-run guide walks you through getting the key, one step and one picture at a time, and everything except the AI buttons works before you have one. The model can mishear. Check every AI answer against the audio before you paste or send it — the extension says so in its own interface too. PRIVACY MxM Tools has no backend. Nothing is collected for the developer: no analytics, no telemetry, no tracking, no identifiers. Data leaves your browser only when you press the button that needs it, and then it goes straight to the service that button reaches — Google's Gemini API, YouTube, Diffchecker, Musixmatch's own Typeform, a search on Google, Spotify, Apple Music or Amazon Music, or the feedback form if you choose to send one. Your Gemini API key is kept on your device and is never written to sync storage.
