GitLab Tab Reuse

Reuse an open GitLab merge request tab when opening that MR again.

One tab for each GitLab merge request. Opening the same merge request again brings you back to its existing tab and closes the newly opened duplicate, even across Chrome windows. KEEP YOUR PLACE Open a basic merge request link to return to your existing view and scroll position. Open a link to a specific comment, changes page, or filtered view to follow that destination in the existing tab. WORKS WITH YOUR GITLAB Supports GitLab.com and self-hosted GitLab installations using standard merge request URLs, including projects inside nested groups. Different servers, projects, and merge requests stay separate. No GitLab token or account setup is needed by the extension. FOCUSED BEHAVIOR Only newly opened tabs are eligible for automatic closing. Navigating within an established tab will not close it. Existing duplicate tabs are not cleaned up when the extension is installed. A new tab may appear briefly before it closes. Links that go through a login page or tracking redirect first may not be detected. LOCAL PROCESSING Open-tab URLs and tab metadata are processed locally to find matching merge requests. Temporary new-tab IDs and timestamps are stored in Chrome's session memory. No analytics, no advertising, and no tab data sent to the publisher. The extension does not read page contents or access GitLab credentials. PERMISSIONS Tabs: find matching merge requests across windows and focus the existing tab. Storage: remember which tabs are new while Chrome's background worker sleeps. Incognito use requires Chrome's Allow in Incognito setting. Regular and incognito tabs are handled separately.
