GitHub Repo Watcher

Alerts when tracked GitHub repos have new issue/PR activity waiting for your attention.

Keep an eye on GitHub repos without living in a dozen open tabs. GitHub Repo Watcher polls the repos you choose and tells you exactly which issues and pull requests have new activity since you last looked — grouped by repo, right from your toolbar. FEATURES • Track any repo's issues, PRs, Actions (waiting workflow runs), or any combination — pick per repo. • Badge shows a live count of items waiting for you; green dot when you're caught up. • Desktop notifications on new activity, with a one-click "Mark as read" action right on the notification. • Popup groups pending items by repo (order controlled in Settings), with per-repo "Open" (jump to the issues/PR list) and "Open all" (open every pending item as its own tab) buttons. • Mark an item read or hide it (stop surfacing it entirely) directly from the list — no need to open it first. • Optional: only show issues/PRs assigned to you. • Adjustable popup font size, poll interval per your preference. SIGNING IN Click "Sign in with GitHub". A GitHub tab opens where you enter a one-time code, approve the access, and you're done — no access token to create, copy, or rotate by hand. Sign-in uses a GitHub App with the OAuth 2.0 Device Authorization Grant (RFC 8628): only a public client ID is used, no client secret ships in the extension, and the session renews itself. The app asks for READ-ONLY access to issues, pull requests, Actions and repository metadata — it cannot write to your repositories. Public repos work as soon as you sign in. To watch private repos, install the app on the account or organization that owns them (organizations need an owner to approve). HOW IT WORKS Polls each tracked repo's open issues, PRs, and/or waiting Actions runs on a timer you control (default every 5 minutes). Anything whose "updated" timestamp has moved since you last acknowledged it shows up as pending. PRIVACY Your access token and settings are stored only in your browser's local extension storage. The extension talks only to api.github.com (API calls) and github.com (sign-in flow), directly from your browser — there is no backend and no analytics.
