GitHub Copilot

Overview
Connects local GitHub Copilot agents to a Chromium browser.
GitHub Copilot in Chrome lets you automate browser tasks. Connect Copilot to Chrome to do test automation, live debugging, navigate websites, click buttons, and fill out forms. Describe what you want to accomplish, and let Copilot handle the browser steps as part of your workflow. FROM CODE TO THE BROWSER Bring browser interaction into your development workflow. Ask Copilot to walk through your web app, inspect rendered pages, capture screenshots, and help verify how your changes look and behave. LESS REPETITIVE WORK Delegate the browser tasks that slow you down. • Read and summarize information from websites you approve. • Navigate pages and gather context for your next task. • Fill out forms and perform repetitive interactions. • Walk through application flows to help check functionality. • Capture screenshots to support investigation and review. YOU CONTROL SITE ACCESS By default, Copilot requests approval before connecting to a site. Use the extension’s browser permissions settings to require approval, always allow, or block access for specific domains. Sign in and complete sensitive steps yourself. Review permission requests and approve only tasks you initiated. GETTING STARTED 1. Install the GitHub Copilot Chrome extension. 2. Install and activate the matching GitHub Copilot Browser plugin in Copilot CLI. 3. Ask Copilot to perform a browser task. 4. Review and approve site access when prompted. REQUIREMENTS This extension connects Chrome to a local Copilot agent. It is not a standalone chat assistant. This preview requires the matching Copilot CLI browser plugin, an account with Copilot CLI access, Node.js 22 or later, and Chrome 127 or later.
