Overview

Discover, rank and analyze open source repositories on GitHub. Unofficial, third-party tool.

GitGlobal GitHub is an independent, unofficial discovery and ranking layer for public GitHub repositories. It's not a search box — it's a dashboard that surfaces what's actually worth looking at, with a transparent, locally-computed score explaining why. WHAT IT DOES - Trending, Top Stars, Rising, Hidden Gems, and Just Launched — five ways to browse what's happening in open source right now, each with its own definition (documented, not a black box). - A Global Score for every repository, calculated on your device from public GitHub data (stars, forks, activity, issue health) and clearly labeled as this extension's own metric — never presented as an official GitHub ranking. - Browse by category: AI & Machine Learning, Web Frameworks, Chrome Extensions, Developer Tools, DevOps & Cloud, Design & UI, Security, Hacking & Pentesting, Data Science, Blockchain & Crypto, Game Development, SaaS & Business, Mobile, and more. - Save repositories to a personal collection. No account, no sign-up. - Advanced search with language, stars, forks, license, and date filters. AI DISCOVERY ASSISTANT Describe an app idea in plain language — "I want to build a Canva-like drawing app" — and the Assistant searches real GitHub repositories for the strongest open-source starting point, then generates a ready-to-use prompt for an AI coding tool (Claude Code, Lovable, and similar). It works out of the box, for free, using a local keyword dictionary — no API key, no cost, no account. If you add your own Anthropic API key in Settings, the Assistant can also handle more unusual or open-ended requests, and can explain any repository (a factual summary, three app ideas at different scopes, and a reverse-engineered "what prompt might have created this" suggestion) with real AI reasoning grounded in that repository's own README and file structure. Without a key, these features still work using local, template-based approximations, clearly labeled as such. PRIVACY BY DESIGN - No account, no tracking, no ads, no analytics of any kind. - Everything you save, every preference you set, and the search cache all stay on your device in Chrome's local storage — never synced to any server we operate. - The only network requests this extension makes are to api.github.com (to fetch public repository data) and, only if you choose to add your own key, api.anthropic.com (for the optional AI features). If you don't add a key, that second host is never contacted. - Any personal access token or API key you optionally add is stored only on your device and sent only to the corresponding official API — never to us. NOT AFFILIATED WITH GITHUB GitGlobal GitHub is an independent, third-party tool built on top of GitHub's public API. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by GitHub, Inc.
