)Overview
Save reusable GitHub repository configuration profiles, secrets, and deploy keys and sync with any repository instantly.
GITE_NV is a professional-grade GitHub environment manager that lives right in your browser sidebar. Built for developers and DevOps engineers who work across multiple repositories and need a fast, secure, and repeatable way to synchronize secrets, environment variables, and SSH deploy keys β without ever touching the GitHub UI manually. βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ π SECURE BY DESIGN βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ Your data never leaves your device unprotected. GITE_NV uses AES-256-GCM encryption (via the browser's native WebCrypto API) to encrypt every secret value before it is written to local storage. You set a master password on first launch β this password derives the encryption key locally using PBKDF2 and is never transmitted, stored, or sent anywhere. Even if someone gained access to your browser storage, your secrets remain encrypted. βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ π¦ CONFIGURATION PROFILES βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ Create reusable configuration bundles called Profiles. Each profile can hold: β’ GitHub Actions Secrets β encrypted key/value pairs that get pushed directly to your repository's Actions secrets via the GitHub API β’ Environment Variables β plain-text key/value pairs for GitHub Actions environments β’ SSH Deploy Keys β public keys with read/write permissions for CI/CD integrations β’ Custom Environments β named deployment environments (e.g. production, staging, preview) Organize profiles by project, team, or workflow. Color-code them for instant recognition. Duplicate a profile as a starting point for a new one. Export encrypted JSON backups and restore them on another device. βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ π ONE-CLICK BULK DEPLOYMENT βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ Select any number of repositories from your GitHub account and deploy an entire profile to all of them in one synchronized operation. GITE_NV streams the deployment in real time, showing you exactly which secrets were created, updated, skipped, or failed β per repository, per item. Choose your conflict resolution strategy before deploying: β’ Skip existing β preserves values already configured in the target repo β’ Overwrite & Replace β forces your profile values onto the target repo βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ π REPOSITORY BROWSER βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ Browse all of your GitHub repositories (public and private) directly inside the extension. Search by name, filter by visibility, sort by last updated or alphabetically. Select individual repos or bulk-select all of them for deployment. βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ π PERSISTENT SESSIONS βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ GITE_NV remembers your login and vault state across browser restarts and extension updates. You won't need to re-authenticate or re-enter your master password every time you open the side panel. Your profiles and settings are stored locally in IndexedDB and survive extension updates automatically. βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ π THEMING & CUSTOMIZATION βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ Choose between Light Mode, Pro Dark Mode, or System Default (auto-switches with your OS). The UI is designed for the browser side panel and scales cleanly to any width β from a compact 320px side panel to a full browser tab. βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ πΎ IMPORT / EXPORT & BACKUP βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ Export your entire configuration database as a password-encrypted JSON backup file. Import it on any other machine or browser to restore all profiles, secrets, and keys instantly. Individual profiles can also be exported and shared as encrypted bundles. βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ π GITHUB OAUTH β PRIVACY FIRST βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ GITE_NV authenticates with GitHub using the official OAuth Device Flow β the same secure flow used by GitHub CLI and VS Code. No passwords are stored. Your GitHub token is encrypted with your master vault password before being saved locally. You can disconnect your GitHub account or lock the vault at any time from the Settings page. βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ β PERMISSIONS USED βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ β’ storage β saves your encrypted profiles and settings locally β’ identity β supports GitHub OAuth authentication β’ sidePanel β opens the extension as a browser sidebar β’ api.github.com β reads your repositories and writes secrets/variables/keys via the GitHub REST API No data is ever sent to third-party servers. All API calls go directly from your browser to GitHub. βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ π€ WHO IS THIS FOR? βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ β’ Solo developers managing secrets across personal and client projects β’ DevOps and platform engineers maintaining secrets across many microservice repos β’ Teams onboarding new repositories with a consistent secrets baseline β’ Anyone who has ever copy-pasted the same secrets into GitHub Settings 10 times βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ π QUICK START βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ 1.
